The following committees will be formed every year; other committees may be formed as considered necessary by the officers and band director.
This committee will be in charge of setting fundraising events for the general fund of the HBBC. These events should enable the HBBC to help with the general expenses of the Band Program. This committee is also responsible for staffing and supplying concession stands at fundraising functions and band activities. They will also sell booster spirit items (such as shirts and hats).
This committee will be in charge of contacting members and families about membership, events, performances, etc. They will utilize phone calls, text messaging, Band App, Group Me, email, and any other preferred communication style as indicated on the membership and volunteer form.
This committee works with the band director to recruit chaperones for all band trips, including but not limited to Troy Summer Leadership Camp, and off campus performances. They also will submit a list of all nominees for overnight trips of active members in the HBBC who currently have a student in the band.
This committee will work with the Band director, students, and other booster members to plan social activities for the band. They will be in charge of securing sponsors, food, buildings, and other necessary items for these social activities.
Hospitality: This committee will arrange for refreshments provided at all meetings of the boosters. This committee will also be in charge of arranging meals for students if they are at a practice or performance for over 3 hours.
This committee will review all scholarship applications and come to a decision as to which students will receive scholarships and for how much. They will confer with the director for additional insight into each applicant. They will work with the treasurer to ensure that $1000/year is contributed to the HBBC Scholarship Fund through the Hamilton High School ASB account. No person in this committee may have any relation to a scholarship applicant for that academic year.
This committee will be in charge of handling the banner at all band activities. Through the newspaper, social media, the HBBC website, and other modes, they will advertise about the Band and HBBC activities in order to inform the general community of any and all happenings. The committee works with the Band Director and other board members to publish a quarterly newsletter, which keeps the paid membership up to date about important dates, events, and other information relating to the band.
Any members interested in assisting with one or more of these committees should reach out to an officer to be considered.
The president, with advice from the executive board, may constitute committees to better achieve the purpose of the HBBC. Each committee shall have a chairperson appointed to serve at the pleasure of the executive board who shall become a member of the executive board for the tenure of the committee or for a term specified in the appointment. The committee chairperson shall recruit members from the general membership to serve them.
